Sunday night in paradise
We are at home this evening enjoying more Christmas movies that inspire us. We had a wonderful couple join us at our vacation rental part of the home. They were very sweet and friendly and kind. We had a conversation with a dear friend about improving the Illuminate Film Festival and came up with some good ideas. Lou Ann gave a gift to our neighbor who watched our home a couple of weeks ago. I went for a walk in the beautiful sunshine. It is a normal day at our home and we are full of joy and thankful for all of our blessings. It occurred to me as I write this blog that it isn’t necessary to have blockbuster events to have an exciting life. I am excited to be alive and to be present to all the beauty around me and Lou Ann.
I think sometimes we get trapped into thinking we must do something really important to be of value. When just holding a door open for someone or asking their name is a rich treasure. I am going to make it my goal to do a random act of kindness for someone every day this coming week. They may be aware of it or not, it doesn’t matter. Then I am going to report back to all of you on this blog what I have created.
Most of us in what we call the Western world live in paradise. However the majority of the world lives in poverty. While we are living in unparalleled luxury and safety, let us give back by finding others who are not so fortunate. Please join me in sharing random acts of kindness and unspeakable beauty. If a few of us did this every day, we might make a difference! From my very fortunate heart to yours, Thomas
