Christmas Carol

I suppose this might be my last communication about Christmas for this year.  Lou Ann and I just watched the Muppet’s Christmas Carol again.  You all know the story of course. The unique telling of this one is the Muppets gorgeous interpretation. It is a brilliant presentation with so much humor and tenderness.  Then there is the music magnificently written by Paul Williams.  If you have never seen this version, Please find a copy and do so, you will not regret it.  At one point there is a song entitled “Bless us all”, here are the wonderful lyrics:

Life is full of sweet surprises
Everyday’s a gift
The sun comes up and I can feel it lift my spirit
Fills me up with laughter
Fills me up with song
I look into the eyes of love and know that I belong

Bless us all, who gather here
The loving family I hold dear
No place on earth, compares with home
And every path will bring me back from where I roam
Bless us all, that as we live
We always comfort and forgive
We have so much, that we can share
With those in need we see around us everywhere

Let us always love each other
Lead us to the light
Let us hear the voice of reason, singing in the night
Let us run from anger and catch us when we fall
Teach us in our dreams and please, yes please
Bless us one and all

Bless us all with playful years,
With noisy games and joyful tears.
We reach for You and we stand tall,
And in our prayers and dreams
We ask You bless us all

We reach for You and we stand tall,
And in our prayers and dreams we ask You,
Bless us all

The opening two stanzas that “life is full of sweet surprises and every day’s a gift” could be a wonderful mantra for us all.  Yes, there are surprises in life that are not so sweet and we all experience them.  And each day, we get to have a brand new experience of seeing it as a gift. Please read the lyrics and perhaps copy them or better yet go to and listen to the song if you can.  And, as Tiny Tim once proclaimed “bless us all, everyone”.  May this coming year be filled with the richest of blessings for all of you.  From my totally blessed heart to yours, Thomas

Atta Boy Clarence!

The blog title tonight is the last  line of the great Christmas movie ” It’s a Wonderful Life”.  Lou Ann and I have probably seen it at least fifty times or more.  I weep openly when the movie ends.  It is such an important message for all of us.  We matter.  We are all connected.  We have touched so many lives.  Not all of us are like George Bailey with such a huge giving heart.  However, we shouldn’t underestimate our value to each other.  From time to time I will reconnect with someone who was in our Spirit church family.  I haven’t spoken to them in years.  Then, they will share with me that something I said in one of my talks changed their life forever.  It may be why this movie affects me so deeply.

I am so honored to have been of service to others in my lifetime.  In the final scene of the movie there is an inscription from George’s guardian angel, Clarence.  It says “no man is a failure who has friends”.  It is so true.  I think there should be a bumper sticker that says “those who die with the most friends, win!”  I just want to remind all of you of the value that you give our planet.  I am so grateful that all of you showed up in my lifetime to demonstrate how to live powerful, loving lives! You make life a treasure.  Together, we can all create a society where friendship and love, not money and things are valued above all.  Then our guardian angels can get their wings.  And we can get ours too when we fly home.  From my angelic heart to yours, Thomas

At My Age

I have to laugh at myself.  I was playing tennis today with a visiting couple from out of town.  They have almost zero body fat and are gorgeous!  A  couple of times, I made errors because I was looking at them and not the ball!  Even at 77, attraction never goes away!

I was thinking today about some folks I know who are having challenges with creating what they desire.  That make plans and somehow they don’t seem to finish them.  Then they beat themselves up for not performing.  My former mentor, Arnold Patent had simple way of moving energy so they we get what we want.  It goes like this.  If you create something that doesn’t feel good.  Do not spend a lot of time figuring it out.  Simply notice how you feel with the results.  Then without spending so much time in your mind about all the aspects of the result.   Take step two.  It is to feel how you want to feel now.  Go within and find a feeling that gives you pleasure and stay with it. Our feelings are the connection to getting what we desire.  Our minds will lead us on a not so merry chase.  So, instead of focusing on what you want, such as a great job, wonderful relationship, abundance or even world peace.  Just spend time on how you want to feel and Universe will do all the rest!

New guests just came in and they are young folks from California.  They also happen to be UCLA and Ram fans.  How does Universe keep doing this?  We are now officially BFF’s!  We are so blessed.  All of our visitors to our vacation rental the past three months have been wonderful!

Lets review. I encourage you to try the two step.  Remember, first notice how you feel about your creation.  Then if it is not how you desire to feel, immediately let go of that energy.  Then spend the most time in step two,

in feeling fully how you really desire.  You will be amazed at the results.  From my dancing heart to yours, Thomas

Back home again

Of course the wonderful John Denver song “Hey it’s good to be back home again” is appropriate right now.  We just arrived back home after a nine hour trip from Los Angeles.  It took us seven hours going there.  Who knew that hundreds of thousands of folks had the same idea to leave at the same time?  The first two hours of the return today, we only drove 78 miles!

I’ve written at length about being home and why it is important to so many of us.  And, that home for us can be so many different things and places.  Whoever said “home is where the heart is” hit it right on the nose.  So, for me my home can be many places around the world that I have lived.  It is also the place where my family is wherever that might be.  However, my emotional physical place is Hollywood.  The place I would like to spend more time in is Virginia with my children and grandchildren.

Lou Ann and I planned our upcoming months as we drove along.  We are really good at brainstorming around what we desire to create.  They may not be New Year’s resolutions, but they are things we definitely want to accomplish in the next year or eighteen months.  We will let you in on our schemes and dreams as we go along.  What is up for you for the next phase of your life?  Are you moving forward or feeling a little stuck?  We love to help others create their dreams.  If you have the desire to do what you love and just hang out, let us know, so that we can support you all.  We are planning on a party New Years eve, our 35th anniversary.  We will play some games and then make some plans we each want to create.  It will be fun and perhaps help others have a breakthrough in fulfilling their hearts desire.  From my brainstorming heart to yours, Thomas

The day after

We are still in Los Angeles spending the day with Uma and grandsons.   We tried to go to the Griffith Observatory but there were thousands of people visiting and we couldn’t get in.  The observatory is in the north part of Hollywood where I grew up.  We traveled down many of the streets that I lived on as a child and it brought back many memories.  I used to go all over the neighborhood and pick fresh fruit off the trees.  We went by the Hollywood Presbyterian Church where I used to roller skate on Wednesday evenings and eat spaghetti. I fell in love for the first time at 16. I have an urge to return sometime and take a few days to find many of the places that I lived and take some pictures and recall the memories. A magical place that will always stay embedded in my memory!

We are staying tonight down in Los Angeles at the Hari Krishna center.  We had a wonderful vegan meal.  The greater Hari Krishna world organization feeds over two million people for free daily all over the world.  This is the essence of spirituality! This is the Hindu religion that has been around for thousands of years. They are vegetarians.  We are blessed to be able to be here tonight and then we will head home tomorrow.  The more I experience other philosophies of life the more I experience oneness.  At our core, we citizens of Oneness create an amazing spectrum of beliefs and practices.  However, when I talk with folks who honor Eastern religions it always feels like home to me.  They are more inclusive than many western religions, so it feels like family!  I am so grateful for my early life in this incredible city of so many ideas, beliefs and activities.  It is way too crowded for me now but it will always be home for me. From my all inclusive heart to yours, Thomas

Merry Christmas

Unlike any other Christmas with five in our hotel room.  Stinky feet, coughing, snoring, no fan in bathroom.  But we were together.  We exchanged some gifts then rehearsed some Christmas carols.  Lot’s of hugging.  Uma and I danced to Karen Carpenter’s Merry Christmas darling.  I asked Universe to show me to give me some sign that it was there and connected to me.  I got a nail in my front left tire and Alu and I went out to change it. I got out the owners manual and opened the four hundred page book to the exact page to change a tire on our Highlander. Message number one.

I received my daily message from the Universe which I will share with you now.  Substitute your name in where it says Thomas.

If it’s not yet obvious to you, the real reason for this, and all seasons, is you, Thomas. A more perfect child of the Universe has never lived. Until now, only celebrations cloaked in myth and mystery could hint at your divine heritage and sacred destiny. You are life’s prayer of becoming and its answer. The first light at the dawn of eternity, drawn from the ether, so that I might know my own depth, discover new heights, and revel in seas of blessed emotion.
A pioneer into illusion, an adventurer into the unknown, and a lifter of veils. Courageous, heroic, and exalted by legions in the unseen.
To give beyond reason, to care beyond hope, to love without limit; to reach, stretch, and dream, in spite of your fears. These are the hallmarks of divinity – traits of the immortal – your badges of honor. May you wear them with a pride as great as what we feel for you.
Your light has illuminated darkened paths, your gaze has lifted broken spirits, and already your life has changed the course of history.
This is the time of year we celebrate Thomas Bruck.
Bowing before Greatness,
  The Universe

Message number two.

We decided to eat some Indian food for lunch and didn’t know where to find the restaurant.  I had a hunch, and drove across the parking lot right to it.  Message number three.

Later on, we went to a nursing home down in Burbank and sang carols for an hour.  It was wonderful to see folks in their later years still remember the words to songs from their youth.

I thank Universe today for giving me three indications that I am in alignment with it.  Here is the information about creating your day from Joe Dispenza.

“I wake up in the morning and I consciously create my day the way I want it to happen. Now sometimes, because my mind is examining all the things that I need to get done, it takes me a little bit to settle down and get to the point of where I’m actually intentionally creating my day. But here’s the thing: When I create my day and out of nowhere little things happen that are so unexplainable, I know that they are the process or the result of my creation. And the more I do that, the more I build a neural net in my brain that I accept that that’s possible. (This) gives me the power and the incentive to do it the next day.

I encourage all of you to create your day, just like this and see what happens.  It would be wonderful if you would get back to me and share your creations as well.  Happy holidays!  From my Universal heart to yours, Thomas

Christmas Eve

Lou Ann and I are at the Hilton Woodland Hills, north of Los Angeles.  Six of us will be sleeping in one room.  It is almost like no room at the inn!  In this case, no room to walk around.  We are here with Lou Ann’s daughter Uma, her grandson Ganapatiye, her grandson Alu (formally known as Bhima) and his girlfriend Sophie.  Uma is flying in from Hawaii, Alu and friend rode a bus for twenty six hours from Seattle, Ganapatiye lives here and of course we just drove in from Sedona.

Lou Ann made them all chocolate chip cookies with real butter and eggs. I made a loaf of German Stollen for each of the three of them.  Where there is a Christmas will, there is a way!  We will be here for three or four days.  We will be staying at the Hari Krishna center for a couple of nights down in Los Angeles.  Over my lifetime, I have had some unusual Christmas experiences.  A few years ago, we ended up eating Chinese food in a run down restaurant in Warrenton Virginia. We laughed a lot!

I have found though, that it doesn’t matter where or what the circumstances, it is always a merry Christmas.  It may not look like a Hallmark Christmas, but the spirit and the love are the same as we celebrate the magic of the season.  I know many of you may not even celebrate Christmas.  For me, this time of year is a time to connect with all that is good about life!  So, I wish for you, all the love, joy and prosperity that your heart’s desire.  From my ho, ho, ho heart to yours, Thomas

Heart to Heart 192

Every day, seven per cent of our body leaves us while another seven per cent replaces it. The breath you are taking now, was on the other side of the planet four or five days ago.  Part of us today will be in some living plants tomorrow.  There are one hundred thousand galaxies bumping into each other and they help create the iron that is in our blood.  When each of us thinks a thought it is felt across the world.  We are not only not alone, we are inseparable.  So, what we think, say and do affects our lives, our close friends and families and people all over the Earth.

This is how we wanted it.  We are Oneness, creating in our infinite ability to do so.  That brings with it a responsibility to do our very best to think, speak and take actions that support all of us, all the time.  Right now on December twenty third, I encourage all of us to take some time to see, if what we are doing is supportive of the whole.  It is a great time to repair relationships that have not gone so well.  It is a wonderful time to let go of our judgments.  It is a perfect time to celebrate each other and send loving thoughts to all.

It’s the time of year when the world could fall in love!  From my connected heart to yours, Thomas

Heart to Heart 191

Twenty-five years ago, Lou Ann and I attended the well known and wonderful Landmark Forum.  It is a three day, all day training designed to give participants a breakthrough in creating a better life.  During one of the sessions I raised my hand and the facilitator asked me what was my desire?  I told him I wasn’t that happy, that something was missing in my life.  He simply asked me questions about my life.  He asked if I had a meaningful relationship with a significant other and I said I did.  And that she was my best friend.  He asked me where I lived and I told him Sedona.  He said “wow”.  He asked me what I did for a living.  I said we had a successful pharmacy in the Village of Oak Creek.  He asked what else I did.  I said I had my own weekly radio talk show.  And that I had lead roles as a performer in musical comedies.  He laughed, then asked the audience who would trade their life for mine right now.  Almost everyone raised their hands. I blushed.

Like me, many of us are waiting to be really happy.  It may begin early in life.  We will be happy when we get that new bike.  We will be happy when a certain someone notices us.  We will be happy when we make the team.  We will be happy when we make a certain amount of money, or get that job we always wanted or get that grade we desire.  We will be happy when we find our life partner or when we retire or when we live on the beach. And of course, we will never be happy if it is something outside of ourselves.

The secret to happiness is being content with what we have, even though we may want more.  When I traveled to other parts of the world and encountered people living in poverty; I saw a light in their eyes that danced!  Most of us would have been complaining about our lot in life, if we were in the same situation, but they didn’t.  They had a joie de vivre that was evident.

I am mostly happy and I still get stuck, when something I am  attempting to create, doesn’t materialize.  My life hasn’t changed a lot since that revealing moment in the Landmark seminar.  In truth, I pretty much have an ideal life that most would raise their hands and say they would want the same.  If you are anything like me and feel you are not as happy as you desire.  Stop, and count your blessings and be grateful for all that you do have.  Because, as someone once said “happiness is an inside out proposition” I wish you happiness all the days of your life and if you get stuck sometime; just think of me and have a good laugh! From my mostly happy heart to yours, Thomas
