Mea Culpa
An acknowledgment of one’s responsibility for a fault or error (Webster). We were having a movie marathon today, there were ten of us watching some six hours of movies. After each movie we would go around the circle and folks would give their opinion about the film. On one occasion, there was a movie on which we were sharply divided. I loved the movie and some of our group were quite critical of it. When it came my turn, I shared my love for the film; I also said that when we are in our heads, we can be more critical and when we are in our hearts, less judgmental. It was a less than loving thing for me to say. There was a pretty strong reaction from the group and there should have been. Sometimes, my scared self says things that are not what my higher self knows. I didn’t get a chance to apologize for my misspoke, so I am doing it now to whoever was in the group, that reads this blog. When I see those friends again, in person, I will also share my heart.
Having said that, we saw some other wonderful movies. There is a movie about the Monarch butterflies and their migration to Mexico from Canada and return. There once was one billion of them and ninety seven per cent have been destroyed. The other aspect of the film is a small village in Mexico where the townsfolk are reforesting the land in which the butterflies migrate. They replaced sixty thousand pine trees! These farmers work tirelessly and even guard the area 24/7 to keep out timber poachers. Around the world, there are so many people doing wonderful things to save our Earth and it’s inhabitants. We are all so blessed to be served by these kind and loving folks of Mexico. From my humble heart to yours, Thomas
