I Am the Sky
I moderated at a film today, titled The Way Home. The title is referring to all of us souls on Earth, remembering Who We Are! It means that we have often been unaware of our true nature. The movie is about the life of a spiritual guru named Mooji. He is self realized! He knows that he is the Eternal Presence. That he has awakened to his Divinity. Mooji is from a long line of spiritual men and women who have taught about reconnecting with our essence. He does this by sitting in Satsang. The meaning of Satsang is ‘company of the Absolute Truth’ where ‘Sat’ means the Absolute Truth i.e. God and ‘sang’ refers to the company of seekers or Saints.
The movie shows the wide variety of gifts that Mooji has. He is also an artist who paints, sculpts, does woodwork and cooks. However it is in Satsang that we greet the Mooji that shines even brighter. The Satsang is a quiet meditative event. Attendees gather and sit quietly awaiting the guru. When they enter, they usually sit in a chair and meditate as well. Then in a few moments, they awaken and begin speaking softly about the Nature of God or Spirit.
The energy in the room becomes even more peaceful. When the guru looks at me, I feel loved, cared for, complete. There is nothing missing in my life at that moment. Whatever concerns or cares that I brought into the room have melted away and I am in bliss. The words that are shared are immediately recognized as true to me. I feel at one with everyone and everything. The title of my blog tonight is about our nature as well. Mooji shares an analogy. Our essence is like the sky. The sky is always the same. The clouds that drift by, are like our thoughts. They float on by. Sometimes they get angry and filled with thunder and lightning and can be destructive. But the sky remains the same above those clouds.
Mooji teaches us how to access that part of our being, beyond our thoughts. This place is always the same, has no limitations. Doesn’t age. Has no gender like make or female. Has no dimensions. Has no personality. It is One. Always has been. Always will be. Sitting Satsang is a unique experience. Unlike any other that I have experienced. I still feel peaceful about this mornings experience. Something has shifted. My Center is still the same. My outer is discovering The Way Home! From my blissful heart to yours, Thomas
