Banana Pumpkin Bread
I know this may seem like a fall recipe blog. The bread is what Lou Ann baked tonight (vegan and gluten-free). By the way, they are fabulous! Lou Ann loves to bake and we both love to cook. It is a pun to say that our relationship is delicious! It is in almost every respect. We have been together thirty-five years. We have learned so much about being partners. It is as if I don’t know where myself ends and she begins. We are so blessed!
What has made our life so sweet is the communication of our hearts. We have learned to ask for what we want. We have learned to find our own space. We have learned how to honor another soul. It hasn’t always been peaches and cream! There I did it again! We took many personal trainings over the years so that we could be the best friend and lover for the other. We survived three bankruptcies and losing everything we owned. Those financial tragedies only made us closer and stronger.
I share all this not to brag. I want everyone to have the best life possible. Experience has taught me that there is a lot of work to make that happen. It is worth everything to make an effort to be in love with ourselves and with another kindred soul. We don’t have to be married or even in a committed relationship. What works is to care so much for someone else that their happiness is even more vital to us than our own. When we love from that place we create a magical treasure of love!
I wish for all of you to have this kind of partnership or friendship with another. If you do not, then let go of what you have been doing that doesn’t serve you. Find another person who wants to be in love with life, as you do. Then give it all your intention and energy. When you do that and surrender to the possibility of living from a place of joy, you too will be using the sweetest puns possible! From my sweet heart to yours ( I know, I did it again!} Thomas
