Peace on Earth
Creating peace of Earth seems like an impossible goal. Seven and a half billion souls. So many of us starving. Most live on less than a dollar a day. Then in developed countries we have created so much fear that we become enemies even though we are one human family. Here are the amazing lyrics to the Maya Angelou song called Human Family:
I note the obvious differences
in the human family.
Some of us are serious,
some thrive on comedy.
Some declare their lives are lived
as true profundity,
and others claim they really live
the real reality.
The variety of our skin tones
can confuse, bemuse, delight,
brown and pink and beige and purple,
tan and blue and white.
I’ve sailed upon the seven seas
and stopped in every land,
I’ve seen the wonders of the world
not yet one common man.
I know ten thousand women
called Jane and Mary Jane,
but I’ve not seen any two
who really were the same.
Mirror twins are different
although their features jibe,
and lovers think quite different thoughts
while lying side by side.
We love and lose in China,
we weep on England’s moors,
and laugh and moan in Guinea,
and thrive on Spanish shores.
We seek success in Finland,
are born and die in Maine.
In minor ways we differ,
in major we’re the same.
I note the obvious differences
between each sort and type,
but we are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.
We are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.
We are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.
Yes, we are one human family, part of the same tapestry. And we are so much alike in our hearts and souls. It is time for us to take charge.
Here are some things WE can do to create peace on Earth. They are:
Let someone in, in traffic.
Put the shopping cart back.
Mow your elderly neighbors yard.
Pick up trash as you walk through town.
Say Hello to everyone.
Ask people their names when they are helping you.
See with your heart.
Listen with your heart.
Relax and let go.
Think beautiful thoughts.
Say yes to life.
We can do this, one person to one person. We can do the simplest things and change the world. This is the job for all the people who want to live in peace and love and joy and prosperity. The folks at the top are temporarily stuck in their choices. They are not as free as you and I to heal the planet and everything on it! From my peaceful heart to yours, Thomas
