Animal Loving World
There are millions of pets, warming the hearts of their owners all over the globe. On Facebook, the posts are filled with wonderful stories about people caring for animals. We had a dog named Angel who was with us for twelve years. Her health eventually failed her and we had to put her to sleep. The picture of her loving, trusting eyes at that moment will forever be embedded on my mind. It was a tough choice and one that I felt had to be made. Lou Ann and I made a choice to choose a plant based life fourteen months ago. We had mostly eaten pretty healthfully and wanted to take it a step further. However, the overriding element of this decision was to no longer harm any animal.
Maybe if all animals were pets, there would be more folks choosing a whole food, plant based diet. We are both advocates for creating a healthy climate as well. Eating animals accounts for more climate pollution than all the autos driven all over the world. What can we do as a conscious loving people? It might be time for many of us to step forward and consider the consequences of continuing to kill animals for our own needs. We do not need to eat them to get enough protein for good health.
I realize that this is a touchy subject for a lot of people. All of us get to choose about how we live our lives. Tonight, at the risk of those who read this blog, getting upset with me, I encourage you all to consider making a change. I am asking for those sentient beings on our Earth who have no voice. People who eat meat are not bad people. We have been doing this for centuries. It no longer serves us to continue this way of living, Let us live and let live. Let us create an animal loving world. From my heart to yours, Thomas
