Saving the world
Last night, Lou Ann and I went to see the movie “What the Health” for the second time. If you get a chance to see it, please do. I think most people who see it, would share my feelings that this is a film that many should see!
We live in a time where we are on the brink of great discovery and great risk. Our planet is in trouble and we made it that way. The Earth will probably survive our onslaught of misdeeds but humankind may not. There are two great issues that are confronting us that we can actually do something about for the good of all. Climate change and personal health are intrinsically joined together by our less than noble choices. The film we saw demonstrates the connection between our insatiable desire to devour sentient beings and the effects that has on our global weather.
Nearly nine months ago Lou Ann and I chose a plant based whole food diet. It has dramatically improved our health both physically and emotionally. We were both raised in traditional omnivore families. In my case I was a natural raw monotrophic eater. That is, I loved to just sit and eat a raw potato, or other fruits and vegetables. I, like so many others was forced to eat prepared food that I hated. So after all that retraining I had become a meat eater as well as a large variety of delicious tasting unhealthy foods.
After seeing the movie “Eating You Alive” we quit cold “turkey” pun intended! I lost weight and Lou Ann’s cholesterol plunged downward. Then I felt lighter, that is, less dense. I feel younger and many aging symptoms have disappeared like no arthritis pain or tightness. And now I notice that black hair is returning where there used to be only white. These are some wonderful results of this new way of eating.
And just awhile ago we viewed the second Al Gore movie “An Inconvenient Sequel – Truth to Power” He has been on a heroic journey to wake up the climate change deniers and is now training folks around the world to join his team.
Please see these two movies and decide for yourself whether you want to join the efforts to support mother nature and her beautiful beings in living the longest loving lives possible! From my heart to yours, Thomas
