Defending Your Life
We are having fun watching the Albert Brooks film “Defending Your Life” about the afterlife and Judgment City. In many traditional religions there is the philosophy that we are judged for our performance while here on Earth. I don’t believe that is so. I do not believe there is some anthropomorphic being making arbitrary value judgments about how we did in each incarnation.
As I understand it: you are perfect just the way you are. You have made choices in each lifetime from a very limited perspective and always did the best you could. Your spirit doesn’t need fixing. Nothing is broken. There is no committee keeping score. You do not need to atone for anything. There is no karma to repay. If there is an afterlife it is exactly how you desire it to be. So stop worrying about any of the choices you made that were labeled mistakes or errors. If you choose to return here for another go around it will be with a clean slate because there was no slate to clean.
Now, in this life you can be free to live according to your heart’s desires. Inwardly most of us know what is for our highest good. If we have somehow blocked our ability to do this. Go find a quiet place and tune into what your eternal self might want you to choose and you can’t go wrong! You have been doing this forever and you can keep doing life on Earth as long as it is here. You can’t run out of time. Relax, you have forever to dance this dance! From my heart to yours, Thomas
