Aloha
Tonight, Lou Ann and I went to our fourth women’s march in Sedona this year . There were 150 people there standing up for Heather Heyer the woman who was run down by a white supremacist in Charlottesville Virginia. Several speakers spoke mostly of love and standing up to tyranny. Not about revenge our retribution. They spoke also of a Republican administration in Washington that is stripping away regulations that have kept our planet and it’s people healthy. Many also encouraged us to find a way to make a difference in our troubled world. It is easy to be outraged by the events going on today. And once we have had our visceral reaction it would be wise to find a way to make the world a better place.
Go volunteer at a place that you have a passion for making a difference. Now is the time to do it! Now is the time to reverse climate change. Now is the time to make voter registration easier for all the folks who want to vote. Now is the time to have at least the national elections become holidays so all can vote. Now is the time to create a living wage for all. Now is the time for equal pay among women and men. Now is the time to make immigration laws that support those who are here. Now is the time to go and help someone in your neighborhood and mow their grass, paint their house, give them something to eat or to wear. Now is the time to comfort the aged and the sick and the poor. Don’t wait, do it now! Each of us have only so many days in which to shine our light and love and there has never been a better time to do it! From my heart to yours, Thomas
