Choices of Love!
I was out on another magical walk around the hills of the Village of Oak Creek. I began thinking about love. How do we love? Thousands of ways, I would guess. Some may not be as obvious.
Lou Ann and I, attempt to escort out every bug or insect that enters our home. She leaves the big spiders to me!
When we make life choices, we often come from love or fear or some rendition of both those feelings. When we became vegans, it was largely because we didn’t want to have another animal killed for our food consumption. It felt loving to do that. We don’t judge others for making different choices.
When we are out on a walk, we are burning calories. We are reducing our weight and increasing the healthiness of our cardiovascular system. This is both self loving and a loving thing to do for those who love us personally and globally.
This is to say, when we begin to wake up to our responsibility to give back to our planet and all of it’s inhabitants, it is important to live longer and healthier. Length of life, reduces the load on our overtaxed medical system. Health of life, can allow us to make more powerful choices for ourselves, our family, our community and our world.
When we remember to call another person and connect with them, it often uplifts us both. We feel more loved when we are noticed.
When we remember to recycle, the Earth and all it’s environs and systems and sentient beings are benefited.
When we open a door, say thank you, let someone merge in traffic, ask someone who serves us, their name, we are making loving choices. When we wave at a stranger, pet a lonely dog, take home a stray…it’s endless of how much we can love.
Yes, we have limitless choices in our lives. Let us see how many can be loving ones. From my loving heart to yours, Thomas
