You Belong!
Lou Ann and I were watching a movie named “The Town without Christmas” about folks who felt lonely and separated from their environment. There was a man who was adopted as a young boy and felt like he didn’t fit in. At eight years old he runs away from home around Christmas time. He ends up stranded out in the snowy woods and is about to freeze to death when a lumberjack finds him and takes him back home.
Through it all, there is this mysterious quirky character who shows up at the most appropriate times and creates miracles in the life of the man and a little girl whose parents are fighting. Finally, the man meets the love of his life and the girl’s parents reunite. Then at the end, our mysterious stranger tells the man “You belong! They were two words that felt so profound to me. I got goosebumps when I heard them.
I think for many of us, there are times when we feel like we don’t belong in our life. Perhaps our career has soured. Our marriage has faded. Our finances are challenging. We are not doing what we love to do. There are so many ways we can feel on the outside of life.
The truth is, life is a journey of discovery. Our soul wants us to realize who we really are. Magnificent, magical, creative, loving spirits, remembering our Divinity! And along the way Spirit often sends angelic messengers to help us discover our eternal beauty.
We are here for each other. We are all connected. We are not alone. We are One!
If you are feeling out of sorts sometimes, just look in a mirror and say “I belong!”
