Take a risk
Risking is an inherent part of life. We risk every time we drive our car or fly in a plane or jump in a swimming pool. Most of us do not have lives of high risk and yet each of us takes interpersonal risks when we interact with one another. We risk rejection in love relationships. We risk rejection when we apply for a job. All of life’s decisions involve the element of success and failure. Some are scary and some benign. Our choices create our ultimate destiny. For those willing to take more risks there seems to be more reward. It is easier not to risk but not doing so keeps us trapped in a comfort zone that could imprison us.
When we retreat to a safe place it is like keeping a ship in a harbor and never to sail the seas. We are here to experience change, growth and discovery. We do this by taking chances and opening ourselves to the unlimited possibilities of life. We may look like a fool and fall on our face, but risk takers made this World. All creative people take risks by giving their personal energy to their art or passion. When we step out into life even though we may be in fear and have the courage to go for our dreams, we make the World a richer and more beautiful place.
What risk are you willing to take today that will have you leaping out of bed every morning? Find something you love and give it all of your energy because it is better to have risked and failed than to have never tried at all. For if you go for it and do not achieve your goals think how much further you are.
