Surrender
“You must give up the life you planned in order to have the life that is waiting for you”-Joseph Campbell
We often get caught up in working so hard to create what we think we want. We plan, set goals, attend seminars, take classes, seek out gurus and make resolutions. It is easy to get lost in all the activity in doing our dream and miss the real dream. John Denver has a wonderful song titled ” Sweet Surrender” it goes like this:
Lost and alone on some forgotten highway, traveled by many, remembered by few.
Looking for something that I can believe in,
looking for something that I’d like to do with my life.
There’s nothing behind me and nothing that ties me to
something that might have been true yesterday.
Tomorrow is open and right now it seems to be more than enough
To just be here today, and I don’t know what the future is holding in store,
I don’t know where I’m going, I’m not sure where I’ve been.
There’s a spirit that guides me, a light that shines for me,
my life is worth the living, I don’t need to see the end.
Sweet, sweet surrender, live, live without care,
like a fish in the water, like a bird in the air.
Sweet, sweet surrender, live, live without care,
like a fish in the water, like a bird in the air.
Nature creates naturally. It is when our mind gets too focused on the result that we can lose sight of the real purpose for living. We are ultimately human beings, not human “doings.” If you feel stuck in any way, now would be a great time to take a break. Find a quiet place and just be here today. Enjoy this moment. “There is a spirit that guides you and a light that shines for you”. Surrender is one of the most powerful actions we can take. We cannot possibly know all the possibilities that Universe has in store for us. So it is time to relax, let go and let Spirit fill up our lives! From my surrendering heart to yours, Thomas
