California here we come
Right back where I started from. I was actually born in Cincinnati Ohio and my parents moved to Hollywood when I was about one and a half years old. My older brother Bob and his wife Zane live in San Diego and we are here in their home tonight visiting. We are going to go up to Los Angeles tomorrow to visit our grandson Ganapatiye. We enjoyed the trip over and listened to NPR most of the way. Each time I return to California it brings up for me a strong feeling of being home even though I have spent most of my life in several other states. I had the feeling growing up in Hollywood that something special was going on. The people here always seemed upbeat and that they were going to do something special.
As I look back on my life I think maybe most people feel this way. Do you think that you are supposed to do something special? I don’t mean to imply that if you feel this way that it makes you better than anyone else who doesn’t have that feeling. It is a feeling that we are here for a purpose. That all of this is not just random. That we are connected to a force that is greater than us. That this force is a divine, all inclusive, kind of energy. I don’t believe that if you don’t do something “special” your life has less value. I think that if you live with a conscious connection to the Force, that life somehow has more meaning. And things like helping the world be a better place is important. When we go through life and desire good things for all Earth’s inhabitants life takes on a different meaning. So that when you get up each morning it is not just another day. It is a day with all the potential of creating something wonderful and amazing and transcendent.
So here we are not far from the Magic Kingdom and Tinseltown and all kinds of possibilities for the child within us all. I am home, somewhere over the rainbow, wanting to click my heels together! I get to once again dream of the possibilities that life here on this fragile spacecraft is something special. I can hardly wait to get started! May all of us rediscover that childlike wonder without limits, and soar to new heights of creativity that will bring us HOME! From my nomadic heart to yours, Thomas
