Gratitude
It is easy to get to caught up in all that is going on in our world and wonder why we have created this situation. I believe that we create every circumstance in our life. There are no accidents. Everything is on purpose. Sometimes this way of perceiving life can be challenging. However, I truly believe that it can also be empowering. If we see life as not on purpose, it is a slippery slope to giving up. If we picture it as our own creation and take responsibility for it. It can change our life. In addition, I am grateful for seeing life as I see it.
My wife Lou Ann and I focus a lot on being grateful.
Here is my list that immediately comes to mind. I am grateful for Lou Ann and our wonderful relationship and all of the love we get to share together. I am grateful for our family, all of our amazing children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I am grateful for my health and my home and where I live. I am grateful for my friends and our love for each other. I am grateful for a wonderful Samoyed dog named Angel who I loved and she loved me back unconditionally.
I am grateful for my mom and dad and their parents and siblings. I am grateful my dad was an alcoholic. I am grateful of all the joy and the sadness I have created. I am grateful for all the choices I made. I am grateful for all of the circumstances that brought me pain. I am grateful for never giving up. I am grateful that I am still working at 76 and never plan to retire. I am grateful that I went to a metaphysical school forty years ago and learned principles that serve me every moment of my life. I am grateful for seeing the big picture that keeps my daily activities in balance.
I am grateful that I love the sun and hot weather. I am grateful I get to play tennis several times per week. I am grateful that I chose to become vegan and honor the sentient beings on Earth. I am grateful that I love to sing and perform and write songs. I am grateful for the hundreds of movies that Lou Ann and I have shared together. I am grateful that I have traveled around a lot of the world and encountered cultures that changed my perspective. I am grateful that I get to help others put solar on their properties. I am grateful that we are permaculturing our property and reducing our carbon footprint. I am grateful we drink structured water that is making us healthier.
I am grateful that I can write these words and share my heart with you. I am grateful that you read these words and respond. I suppose this blog could go on for hundreds of more words but I will close for now. I invite you to think about your own gratitude and make it a part of each day even if you only pause and say thank you Universe! For me, it is often an overwhelming experience to count my blessings and allow that deep feeling of gratefulness to wrap me in it’s essence. It is one of my greatest joys in life! From my heart to yours, Thomas
