Happy New Year!
What if, there were never calendars? What if, we didn’t keep track of things? What if, we just lived each moment without identifying and naming it. What if? We might just focus on the now. We wouldn’t keep track of the past. We wouldn’t worry about tomorrow. We wouldn’t even have a name for a second, minute, day, week or year. We would see the sun rise and set, but we wouldn’t keep track of when and why. What if you and I are these amazing particles of brightness that shine forever? I wonder what life would be like if we hadn’t kept track? I know for me, some of the happiest moments have been where I lost track of time and I was completely in the moment.
However, we do keep track of almost everything and attach a lot of importance to it. Now, here it is another New Year’s Eve and we gather together and count down the seconds and scream, hug and kiss and cry. For Lou Ann and I it is our Wedding anniversary. We were married thirty-five years ago in Scottsdale Arizona. Then we immediately drove seven hours to Pasadena for the Rose Parade and the Rose bowl. My youngest son Jim, accompanied us that wonderful evening.
The three and a half decades have gone by in a blink of time. Life is amazing of how fast it seems to go. And yet, the two of us have done so much, it feels like several lifetimes rolled into one. I am so blessed to be with Lou Ann and see daily, how she lives her life with such love, such grace, such honor and integrity. Along with that, she lives full of joy and optimism and courage. Her gigantic heart touches almost everyone she encounters. So, as long as we humans are going to keep track, I will join in and say Happy anniversary to my lovely bride and wish her only happiness and prosperity all the days of her life.
And my wish for you, is to experience in this coming year, a greater fulfillment of the purpose for your life. May you get so involved with doing what you love, that time stops for you! Remember, we don’t have to wait for December 31st to celebrate a new beginning. Each and every moment we are reborn again to discover our divinity and to live our magnificence! From my brand new heart to yours, Thomas
