Avatars
Many years ago I gave a talk at Spirit Church in Sedona. There is a highway through the Village of Oak Creek to Sedona which is the main thoroughfare from the interstate. The road is taken by most travelers from the south to get to Sedona. We locals of course, use the same highway and it is mostly one lane. Often I would head to town and there would be a large recreational vehicle going less than the posted speed limit. One time, it occurred to me that Universe was putting those huge things in my way to slow me down. And when I slowed down, I would shift and be more present to the fabulous beauty that surrounded me. So, at church that Sunday, we gave the large vehicles the title of Avatars. An avatar is deity in some form. Since that time, I have a warm feeling when I am behind an RV, because I know Oneness is smiling.
Small events like this often come and let us know that we are connected. And that we often get to choose another feeling or thought that supports us in consciousness. I believe that life is always on purpose. We often are not aware of what life has for us. However, it is a powerful thing to surrender to Life and let it lead us to our highest good. Getting out of our own way and letting Spirit guide us is always a good thing. Many times, we think we have to be in control and know the answers about living. In truth, while we are in our Earth spacesuits, we have limited our knowledge so that we can have a total human experience.
So look for God in everything. Since there is only Oneness then everything is Divine. Try not to take even simple things for granted and you will have a much richer life experience. The next time you have someone slow you down or make you wait, stop and take a breath and smile and say “Thank you Spirit”. From my patient heart to yours, Thomas
