What One Woman Can Do!
Today, a woman died that most people never heard of or knew. She was 91. Dr. Mathilde Krim became a pioneer in 1981 when the AIDS crises erupted. She took the lead in getting people to stop judging the behavior and instead using their energy to finding a cure.
Dr. Krim found a way to get science and medicine and social welfare to work together. She saved millions of lives. Indeed, thousands of people now alive with the virus today are leading full, productive, long lives, because she cared. It was an event in 1945 that would ultimately save people’s lives decades later. As an eighteen year old, Ms. Krim saw a newsreel at the movies that depicted the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp. The memory of that experience defined her philosophy of life and made her a fierce opponent of prejudice and discrimination. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2000.
There are so many people on our planet doing wonderful things like this and often we never hear of them. They are truly angels of mercy and love and compassion. May we all find ways to help our fellow human beings, by doing whatever it takes, to find our path of angelic purpose! From my thankful heart to yours, Thomas
