When You’re Weary
These are the first three words of the opening line of the song Count Your Blessings. “When I’m weary and I can’t sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep. Then I fall asleep counting my blessings”. Sometimes it is a challenge to stay positive when our life circumstances get the better of us. It is helpful to take a break and find a quiet place. Then take some slow deep breathes. Begin with the obvious things that you have created. You’re alive. You may be reasonably healthy. You might have folks that love you. You may be able to pay your house payment. You may have a wonderful pet. You might be working at a great job. Scan your body and be thankful for every part of it. Your fantastic fingers. Your terrific toes! Your dazzling eyes! Be aware of your excellent mind and bless it. Thank yourself for having incarnated and created all of this!
My life experience has been that when I really appreciate all that I have; that I receive even more blessings! What you focus on expands, your life is in your own hands! It might be fun to call up someone we haven’t spoken with in a long time and let them know how much we appreciate them. Tonight, I am counting all of you as some of my greatest blessings. Thank you for reading this blog and for responding and letting me know how much you enjoy it! We are all so very blessed in so many ways! From my blessed heart to yours, Thomas
