Beliefs
Universal principle #6
A belief is a thought hooked to a feeling. The feeling gives the thought a perception of power and creates an illusion that is experienced as real. Under the guidance of our Souls, we adopt beliefs to provide us with the precise experiences we are having, and that we planned before we entered this realm. The urge to explore life beyond our beliefs is a signal that our Soul Selves are ready to guide us in freeing the flow of Divine Love, disguised by our beliefs.
Tough one. Our beliefs are our perception of life and create our experiences. In the movie What the Bleep….there was a scene where the native Americans who lived here prior to Columbus and other explorers could not see the ships that sailed toward them on the ocean. We cannot see what we do not believe! One of my favorite books written by the wonderful Wayne Dyer is You’ll See it when You Believe it. We often want it the other way. Show me then I will believe it.
I have had many amazing events in my life. Several were when I traveled to other countries. In 1978 I went on a mystery and healing tour with 43 other medical professionals. At the time I was one of the directors of the Edgar Cayce medical clinic in Phoenix.
We were visiting Greece and were traveling on a bus with a local guide. I was sitting in the rear of the bus with three other friends. The guide was describing the ancient temple of Apollo located in the town of Delphi. She was describing the temple and as she did so I jokingly said to my friends that what she was sharing was not quite accurate. I went on to describe how I thought the temple would be. When we arrived the temple was just as I had shared. We were blown away. How could I have known? I was just being playful about the information that I told them. Later we were at a stadium. It was a large stone amphitheater. I left the group and went to the top of the stadium. I sat down to meditate, it felt so familiar to me. The buses horn startled me out of my reverie. The people were yelling to me that it was past time to leave and for me to hurry down. At first I thought I will go down the stone steps the way I had climbed up. Instead I got this idea to go up a few rows higher. I went up and there was a path that I knew I had been on before. I ran down the hill and I was at the bus before the others arrived even though I had been farther away. My friends were surprised when they saw me waiting for them. How did all this happen? I believe I had been there before in a previous incarnation. Maybe I got to see it because I believed it? From my heart to yours, Thomas
