Universal principle #7
Feelings
Our Soul communicates to us through our feelings. The more willing we are to feel our feelings, the more able we are to connect with the love that resides in them. Love, fully, freely and joyfully felt is the true Power in the Universe—a totally peaceful Power. This Power does not belong to each of us; It emanates from the Divine and manifests through us when we surrender to It.
This can be a challenge for some of us, to fully feel our feelings. When we do we are rewarded with a deep sense of connection. When we share these fully felt feelings with others, miracles can occur! Remember the movie Pay it Forward? When we go out of our way to do something nice for someone else. And they in turn do the same for others. It is not a communicated agreement to pass this love on; it is simply a result of feeling so cared for we automatically do it.
A few years ago Lou Ann and I owned a bookstore in a shopping area of Sedona. The owner of the center financed us in creating The Positive Place Bookstore. There was an agreement made and some promises were not kept. The bookstore never made it and we ended up owing this person $50,000. We made arrangements to pay it back but times were tough and it was difficult to do so. We fell behind in our payments and ended up with a mediator who worked out an amended agreement. We made payments on time after that. We went to Phoenix one evening to attend a Wayne Dyer lecture. As we were leaving, there was a homeless man in the left hand turn lane asking for money. Well Lou Ann hardly ever passes a person in need, so she asked me to roll down my window and give him some money. I had a one dollar bill, a ten and a twenty. I gave him the ten dollars. When we got home the next day our former shopping center owner called me and said she forgave the debt which was now $15,000. I jokingly said to Lou Ann, “wow what would have happened if I had given the twenty dollar bill?”
Another time I was working for a real estate company in Phoenix in 1982. I had just started and had a few listings but hadn’t made any commissions yet. And real estate commissions often take thirty to ninety days to realize. I was sitting at my desk in our office on seventh street when a banged up station wagon pulled up to the curb smoking and had two flat tires. There was a young family with three small children in the car. The father got out and came to the door of the office to ask if there was a repair shop around. Our office manager got a few of us agents together to take up a collection for the family. The manager called a tire shop and got them four new tires, but they were out of money and food as well. When the manager came to me to collect some money she remembered that I was new and hadn’t made any money yet. So she said it was okay if I couldn’t contribute. I pulled out my checkbook and saw we had $250 left. I gave her a $150 check. The next day a lady connected with me about looking at some real estate property in Scottsdale. After driving her around for a few hours she bought a $250,000 condo and paid cash for it. It closed the next week and I got a handsome commission.
I share these things not in any way to brag about what I did. Universe is a very loving place and when we surrender and do kind loving things, then often, wonderful things happen to the giver. Universe pays it forward! From my heart to yours, Thomas
