Now

I was talking with my grandson Ganapatiye, today.  He is twenty seven.  He is working toward becoming an EMT.   He will be a great one.  He has been practicing Aikido for more than half his life.  He has a good heart.  He shared with me that sometimes life is a challenge.  I agreed that it is.  I encouraged him to be in the moment.  I know this can be a trite or nebulous saying that we have heard often.   However, there is no other time.  Yesterday was used up and tomorrow may never arrive.  There is only now, and that is where all the power is!  Our monkey mind will do it’s best to keep us locked up in fear. It will constantly remind us of our limitations.  It will refer us to the past and the future, of which there are none.

The more time we can spend in a quiet place and begin to meditate, we will find the power of the present.  Once our mind slows down and  we begin to have no thoughts at all, we will find our joyful center.  Here is a quote from Mooji: “There is a presence, a silence, a stillness which is here by itself. There is no doer of it, no creator of this stillness. It is simply here in you, with you. It is the fragrance of your own self. There is nothing to do about this, it is naturally present. This fragrance of peace, this spaciousness, it is the fragrance of your own being.”

It is nice to know that there is nothing to do.  Just be.  Yes, we get to do all we desire in life and reap the results of our choices.  However those actions and choices are not who we are.  We are that still place in the midst of our soul that has always been and will always be.  We are the light that shines brighter than the sun!  We are One and we are home and we are now!  From my present heart to yours, Thomas
