Serendipity
There is a wonderful movie that Lou Ann and I have watched several times named “Serendipity” It is a lovely story about how two people meet when they are about to buy a pair of gloves at a Macy’s Christmas sale. This magical tale shows all the different events that take place for them to be together. If you love romantic movies like I do, don’t miss this one. Lou Ann and I met in 1979 through seemingly random choices to discover each other and eventually be together for thirty five years. What is this serendipitous activity that brings two souls together? How about you and your significant other; how did you meet?
Call it fate, destiny or just dumb luck, whatever the reason; you have ended up in a relationship with a significant other that fulfills you and your partner. How did it happen? Nearly half the marriages in the United States end in divorce. How did you end up in the lucky side of the draw? Is it good karma, good genes or good nature? Just what makes a relationship last?
There are couples from all walks of life who have found the magic. They are wealthy, poor, different races, religions, colors and backgrounds and they have some essential ingredients that make their relationship work. They have common interests, beliefs and life adjustment styles. They also have a seemingly magic ingredient. They were meant to be together. A series of synchronistic events occurred and they were inexplicably bonded for life. Some of the stories border on the miraculous. Many are deeply romantic and all are part of a tapestry of love that has perhaps been woven by that unseen spiritual part of us.
Please send me your story of how you and your partner found each other. Maybe we can make a movie about it? From my heart to yours, Thomas
