More Synchronicity
I just found out that Louis Hay and Wayne Dyer died on the same day. Coincidence? Probably not. They were giants in the new thought spiritual community for decades. If there is a place where folks like that hang out, you can bet they will be there together.
More. Wayne Dyer and I were both the third of three sons of an alcoholic father. We were both born in 1940 he on May 10 me on November 12. We were both passionate about playing tennis. We both were attracted to metaphysical concepts. I started earlier and he finished stronger! We were both married three times. I am happily married almost thirty five years to Lou Ann. I went into Air Force intelligence and he was in Naval intelligence. Of course Wayne went on to amazing fame and fortune and authoring dozens of books, We met once in Sedona when I filmed a segment of one of his seminars for my television show The Positive Place Talk Show.
One more. I may have shared this with you folks before. I will shorten the story this time. We had opened the Positive Place Book Store in the Hillside Shopping Center in Sedona. The owner of the center financed us and our shop didn’t go well and we went out of business owing the owner some $50,000. There were circumstances that created the failure that were the responsibility of both parties. We met with a mediator and settled on a sum that we would pay monthly for several years.
One evening, Lou Ann and I went to Phoenix to see Wayne Dyer speak. After the lecture we were driving in our car and we came into a left hand turn and there was a homeless person requesting money. Lou Ann almost always gives money to folks who need a hand. This time however, as I was driving, he was on my side of the car. I pulled up and reached in my pocket and I think there was a one dollar bill, a ten and a twenty. I gave the fellow the ten.
The next day the former owner of the shopping center called me and told me she forgave the rest of our debt, about $20,000. I jokingly said to Lou Ann “wow I wonder what Universe would have done if I had given the twenty”?
Everything and everyone is on purpose all of the time. So these serendipitous events are also on purpose and it is delightful to experience them. Think of the many times in your life when choices were made so that an event happened almost magically. The magic is you! From my heart to yours, Thomas
